What’s the deal with PS4 Pro?
In case you are behind the loop PS4 Pro is the latest and greatest console release for Playstation. It’s bigger, better, and packs better graphics! Does that mean you should run out and buy it right now? No. No it does not mean that. Let us help you decide whether Playstation 4 Pro is actually a good fit for you.
Let’s talk about money!
First let’s talk about the several different Playstation 4 models available right now: Playstation 4 original, Playstation 4 Slim, and Playstation 4 Pro.
Playstation 4 Original
This is the best economic option as it sports the lowest price in addition to having many used/refurbished consoles that you can buy. Generally the original PlayStation 4 will cost from 200.00 USD to 300.00 USD depending on the condition, hard drive, and the bundle package (Which can push it past 300.00 USD).
Playstation 4 Slim
Financially this is the 2nd best (or worst) option. The Slim almost always costs 300.00 USD for 1TB, but often comes with bundles and extra goodies. This is the system that Playstation is pushing, but if you don’t care about a lighter, slimmer model then maybe just stick with the original.
Playstation 4 Pro
The most expensive Playstation 4 version starting at a raw price of 400.00 USD for 1 TB. Bigger and better than the original but also not cheap. The increase in GPU power may not even be worth the price unless you have a nice 4k television.
Spec | Playstation 4 Original (Nov. 2013) | Playstation 4 Slim (Sept. 2016) | Playstation 4 Pro (Nov. 2016) |

Ok, so how does the hardware compare?
Generally speaking the PS4 Original takes more power than the PS4 Slim but they are pretty much the same. The PS4 Pro has upgraded hardware, better CPU, and GPU (Central Processing Unit, and Graphic Processing Unit, respectively). View below table for specifics!

Thank you for your input and I’m glad you are enjoying the site the far! While doing research for this article I came across a lot of good info from Forbes. I don’t know about any community forums specifically for consoles and gaming hardware off hand but Gamespot has a great Playstation 4 Forum.
