Hey there gamers, you have probably seen some game trailers from E3 going around and there is so much awesomeness going on (Like Fallout 76 and Cuberpunk 2077 revealed earlier this week). But we decided to do a summary of yesterday by creating a list of the Top 15 games we can’t wait for! Although trying to be objective, some games hit home. Tell us what you think, and let us know what you can’t wait for. Enjoy.
15 – Starlink: Battle for Atlas
Release: October 16th, 2018
There’s just something about building and flying a space craft, and that’s exactly what puts Starlink onto the top 15 list. The reveal shows on the fly customization, planet exploration, and unique creatures. The open world is probably the most exciting for me. Check out the video and get excited.
14 – Babylon’s Fall
Release: 2019 on both PS4 and PC
Shown in the reveal trailer is a dark fantasy world with historical aspects. There are several reasons that Babylon’s Fall made it onto the list and the first one is the sheer quality of graphics. The setting and theme of the game look ominous and interesting… we don’t know a whole lot yet about it but it looks amazing.
13 – Death Stranding
The reveal shows in depth gameplay of this unique and striking game. The main character modeled after Norman Reedus is shown as a package delivery man who traverses harsh terrain with hyper realistic environments. Gruesome injuries are shown in detail as a result of his journey. We also get a glimpse of the invisible demon enemies that seem to plague the barren environment. This game looks like nothing we have seen before and makes it to the spot of 13 on the list.
12 – Shadow of Tomb Raider
Release: September 14, 2018
This reveal shows a way more in-depth look at this upcoming game than previously released. It shows Laura Croft having far more experience with the jungle than previous games with less emotional struggles. The game has a darker feel and we are looking forward to playing. Long awaited… we place this at 12 on the list.
11 – The Last of Us Part II
One of the titles we have been waiting a long time for. Since the ending of the first game I think everyone was left yearning for more and wondering when? Although we haven’t gotten a definite answer when this will be released, we got a good look at the progress. We see some brutal animation finishers and awesome cut scenes with an enormous bump in graphics. Five years later and we are eagerly awaiting…. placing at number 11 on the list.
10 – Transference
Release: Fall 2018
He’s come a long way from being a ring bearer or talking to dogs in a THC induced haze… Elijah Woods is starring in this psychological cinematic game. This interesting mix of the gaming industry and movie industry gives me chills. There is still very little info, but we can expect Transference to hit the VR market very hard. This unique game is put at 10 because of all the interesting features that are being mixed and we cant wait to see how it turns out.
9 – Beyond Good and Evil 2
Let’s be honest, this game looks spectacular. As Ubisoft’s largest project, we are expecting a lot from BGE2 besides just breathtaking cinematic scenes and graphics (But seriously, if this was a movie I’d watch it in a heartbeat). Building upon previous trailers we see a surprise appearance in this new reveal and we are psyched to see how this prequel plays out. Also Ubisoft is opening up the game to player content so check out their site if you want to contribute: https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1688684
8 – Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Release: October 5, 2018
None can deny that Assassin’s creed is awesome series of games, although after this in depth reveal there is one thing missing: assassin’s. That’s because Odyssey takes place before the Assassin’s order. What we did see was the ability to play as different genders, player romance, sailing ships, awesome combat with large scale battles, meaningful choices, RPG elements, and last but not least Sparta! Ok so if you enjoyed the movie 100 or you are a fan of Greek history this may be your game. Easily, Odyssey takes number 8.
7 – Sekiro
Release: TBD 2019
I think every Dark Souls fan got a little bit giddy watching this trailer (As you may know I am a huge fan). From Software has mixed Dark Souls with samurais and it looks so good. With the same ominous tone as previous games, we see more fast paced movement and even stealth aspects. Lets just say if there wasn’t so many good games being released this may have placed better than 7.
6 – FFXVI x Monster Hunter World Crossover
A huge surprise sprung on us by . I think my jaw dropped when I saw 2 of my favorite types of games merged into one. Like some kind of weird dream come true. From the trailer we can see a raid group facing against Monster Hunter creatures. Not much is known about this crossover but hopefully it leads to more crossover content.
5 – Skull and Bones
Release: TBD 2019
Ubisoft enthralled us all with the deep dive into their upcoming Pirate adventure game. Not only do the graphics look amazing but the gameplay looks immersive and unique. It seems you can customize your ship on the fly to deal with “fortunes” (weather, conflicts, and cataclysms) that will affect your adventure and even use stealth to launch sneak attacks on opposing factions. I will be buying this game as soon as it is released.
4 – Ghost of Tsushima
It’s the year of the samurai with yet another Japanese feudal era game on this list for the same day. We are shown some amazing graphics for characters, environment, and just about everything in between. The reveal trailer shows the protagonist in immersive combat that just blew us away here at AButtonGames. On top of that we see some assassin’s creed style climbing mixed with stealth. It’s safe to say we are looking forward to this title as it makes 4 on the list.
3 – Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Nintendo spent a lot of time yesterday just playing Universe. They had a couple of presentations that showed off new characters as well. Basically we are looking at every single character that has ever been playable being inside this new installment. Although Nintendo has stated they still have a lot of balancing to work through, their preliminary demo looks amazing. As arguably the best multiplayer brawl game, Super Smash Bros Universe smashed it’s way to take spot 3.
2 – Kingdom Hearts III
Release: January 29th, 2019 (Hopefully)
In this reveal we see a good amount of the Frozen world, and a glimpse of Ratatouille and Monster’s Inc. We also see some interesting aspects of Sora/Roxas intertwining. All the feelings of the previous game came back as I watched this reveal and as a long time fan I have no problem placing Kingdom Hearts III at number 2 on the list. If they push back the release again I might just scream.
1 – Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee
Release: November 16 2018
Easily taking top place is Nintendo’s new Pokemon game that is releasing for Nintendo and integrates some aspects from Pokemon Go into a core RPG. From the E3 preview we can see some cool features such as riding Pokemon, non-random Pokemon encounters, experience share, and a new 3D world!
